Borg Warner Power Drive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Incoming Inspection Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supplier Quality & Development Engineer representative in the production shopfloor
- Inspect the reception of external purchase raw materials, complying with established control plans and instructions and in accordance with the audit requirements
- Internal communication, management and follow-up of possible supplier issues together with the SQA SQ&D Engineer
- Management and control of suspect or rejected material due to supplier problems. Follow-up of this material in accordance with the decisions taken by the SQ&D Engineer
- Prepare documentation and reports associated with the role
- Carry out activities from a perspective of continuous improvement
- Issue or assure, when necessary, control charts are properly filled out according to the respective capability studies
- Assess the suitability of measurement systems (MSA), when necessary, in accordance with the procedures
- Keep the Quality criteria’s updated
- Comply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standards
- Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule
- Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
- Respect and comply with environmental policy rules
- Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service
- Secondary education in a related technical area
- Relevant experience in the field will be valued
- Experience in using basic measuring and control instruments (caliper, micrometer)
- Knowledge of references on the automotive sector quality standard (preferred)
- Training in quality tools and techniques: PPAP, 8D, process AMFE (preferred)
- Knowledge of interpretation of technical plans (preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Portuguese
